This week has been running amok with the whirlwindy busy-busy, so I thought I’d do a wee roundup of the Almighty Sitch so you can see what’s been happening in Emmieland.
(Some would say this is what a newsletter is for. Some would probably be right. I have a newsletter. You can sign up in the sidebar. As you can see, I save it for Biggest of Big News, or teasing Biggest of Big News…or bunnies. Or something. I do not s-p-a-m.)
This week has been super exciting. Graham Milne, who had me round his website for an awesome interview a couple weeks back, published a Very Snazzy Article on HuffPost Books about yours truly. (Last year when Shrike: The Masked Songbird initially came out, he also wrote a Very Snazzy Article about that as well! Basically, he’s super cool and you should read his articles and follow his blog.)
In Shrike news, the book is currently on sale for $1.99, today only! (And yesterday, but that’s only relevant to you if you have a TARDIS.) If you’ve been waiting to pick it up, or if you have been eyeballing the terrific new cover and considering scooping it up, here’s your chance to do so for the price of two McDonald’s dollar menu items. *finger guns*
In Storm news, that book is getting some really bananas-level reviews, and that just makes me all the happy. You can check out the reviews here, but a couple of my flaily-faves are below.
Basically, it’s been a good week so far!
For those of you waiting on the paperbacks for Shrike: The Masked Songbird, they’ll be along in a week or so! I’ll let you know when they’re available, and I WILL be doing another round of signed copies for both books!
EDIT: Also, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be one of this year’s Pitch Wars Jedi! I mean mentors. Actually, I mean Jedi. Yep. Jedi. I’ll be on the hunt for adult SFF of any variety, but I have a special love for epics, unique UF, and sci fi with extraordinary worldbuilding. (Think Mass Effect, but prose.) Gimme diversity. Gimme QUILTBAG. Gimme POC protagonists. Gimme neuroatypical folks. Gimme twists on tropes that make me fist pump like Napoleon Dynamite. Gimme a story that makes me show up at work the next day bleary-eyed and reaching for the coffee. Got it? Good. SEE YOU IN AUGUST.
Have a great Thursday, be good to one another, and have some bread today. You deserve it.
