Emmie Mears is the author of over five completed series for adults as well as several standalone novels for adults and teens. Their work has received starred reviews from Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, Foreword Magazine, and School Library Journal, and they were a 2023 finalist for the Andre Norton Nebula Award and the Walden Award. Also an award-winning Gaelic singer and songwriter, Mears sings in three Gaelic choirs as well as solo, and they have represented Scotland internationally both at Eurovision Choir in 2019 and at the Pan-Celtic Festival in Ireland in 2024. They live (for now) in Glasgow with their two cats, but the islands are calling them home and soon will put down roots in Mull.
